*An ENGLISH instruction manual with elaborate experimental procedures and block diagram etc. shall be provided with the training system set-up.

This training system is used to study a non-catalytic homogeneous second order liquid phase reaction under ambient conditions in a combined flow reactor. The training system consists of two reactors connected in series; one is plug flow reactor and the other is mixed flow reactor.
Ideally in a Plug Flow Reactor (PFTR) mixing is not performed in the direction of flow but it is performed in perpendicular to the direction of flow. Concentration of reactants varies along the length of reactor but not in radial direction. If coil turbulence is introduced due to frequent change in direction of flow and the presence of secondary flow, a higher value of reaction rate constant is expected in coil tube type plug flow reactor.

Ideally in a Mixed Flow Reactor is made to have a steady state flow of the contents in the reactor and have uniform composition throughout. Thus the exit stream has the same composition as of the fluid within the reactor. The set up consists of two feed tanks through which two reactants are fed to the reactors fitted in series. Rota meters are provided to measure the individual flow of Chemicals. Needle valves are provided on respective Rota-meter so that the flow rate can be adjusted by operating them. The compressed air is used for circulation of feed. It is a helical coil tube type reactor made up of SS pipe. Reactants enter at lower end coming out from the top of coil from where it is fed to a MFR fitted with a stirrer for proper mixing. Samples are collected for analysis Pressure Gauge, Pressure Regulator and Safety Valves are fitted in the compressed air line to measure the constant air pressure for safety purpose.

The same setup can be used as individual Plug Flow Reactor Coil Tube type too along with Mixed Flow Reactor.
