Basic Operational Amplifier

The following studies can be carried out using the Operational Amplifier Kit:

Working of the basic Operational Amplifier circuit
· Measurement of bias and offset currents
· Study of inverting and non-inverting amplifier configurations
· Introduction to amplifier drift

The above experiment of Operational Amplifier has been put up on a printed bakelite board with an aim of providing an easy understanding to the students of schools and colleges. At Acumen Labware we make customized scientific kits/instruments for schools and colleges in which components are well spread out for clarity and easy maintenance. The Operational Amplifier set-up is provided with a user manual, which contains its detailed theory of operation, specifications and description of the various experiments that can be performed using it.

Operational amplifiers (Op. Amp.) are high gain dc amplifiers that have a differential input (two input leads) and a single ended output (one output lead). Op. Amp. Has typical characteristics such as low output resistance, high input resistance, low drift, high gain etc which are displayed using Operational Amplifier Study Training Kits, Operational Amplifier Trainers. These characteristics make them quite suitable for many applications and therefore, they have vast scope in electronic circuits.

The experimental set-up on the study of Op. Amp. consists of a 741 IC which provides convenience of connections, two regulated power supplies (±12V), a variable voltage source and a multirange digital voltmeter with 3½ digit LED display.

The resistances (0.1% metal film) required are mounted on the board separately, which may be connected as and when required through patch chords. The student can also connect external components, if required.
