Mechanics & Gear Models
The basic idea behind developing mechanics gear study models by acumen labware is to showcase the working of a cogwheel as a rotating machine component having cut teeth, inserted teeth which are in mesh with another cogged / toothed part so as to transmit torque.
Our mechanics gear study models are designed to elaborate abundant advantages, uses and applications of gears as they can change the speed, torque and direction of the energy source. Gears are used to make a change in torque by using the difference of their gear ratio. Mechanical gears when meshed up together and are working in a sequence then they are called a gear train or transmission. A gear can also be meshed up with a straight and linear toothed part which is called a rack to produce translation instead of rotation. We also have models to showcase the importance of multiple gear ratios which are used in bicycles, motorcycles and cars.
